Dear
Parents,
Are
we nearly there yet?!
Another
fun packed week. Thank you to all those
who attended the Informal Parents’ Evening.
It gave parents and children the opportunity to meet their new teachers
and also look at some of the work they have been doing recently.
The
circus was a huge success. The children
were extremely excited as the circus suddenly materialised on the field. They watched, spellbound, as acrobats and
Spiderman helped erect the Big Top. When
the gates opened at 4.30pm there was a flurry of activity with face painting,
Circus Skills games, BBQ and a raffle.
A big ‘thank you’ to the Friends of the School for organising such a
fabulous evening. Special thanks to Mr
Taylor, Mr Patterson, Jasmine Taylor and Mr Spuffard who worked tirelessly on
the BBQ for most of the evening.
Thank
goodness the sun stayed out for Sport’s Day!
The children competed in year groups and had the opportunity to win
points for their house groups. Next week
I will count the points collected to see which house has received the most
stars. Watch this space!
Also
next week we have Mrs Phillips coming to play the cello for the children in
assembly. Mrs Phillips provides lessons
for pupils in the Junior School. If your
child would like to learn the cello you can speak to her in the playground or
let Mrs Sellars know and she will pass on your details.
On Tuesday we will be having a trial
run cooking lunch on site in our new kitchen.
There will be a special menu of the day (outlined below). The cost of
the meal is £2.25, (it will be free in September). If you would like your child to have a hot
meal please fill in the slip below.
Our
Year Twos will be performing their Leaver’s Assembly to parents on Thursday at
9.15am in the School Hall. The title of
the production is Rockerfella. Listening
to the rehearsals I think we are in for a real treat.
Next
Friday we will be holding a Fun Day for our children. They have worked really hard all year and
deserve a celebration. Children can come
dressed in non-uniform although please note there will be bouncy castle and
outside games so casual wear would be appropriate.
Have
a well-earned restful weekend.
Kind
regards,
Julie Guest
