Dear
Parents,
What
a perfect evening we had last night. A huge thank you to all the parents and
children that attended our Performing Arts Evening. It was a truly outstanding
occasion and the children performed beautifully. We are extremely proud to have so many
talented children here at Churchdown Village School. It was also lovely to hear the special
performance from one of our Reception children.
Many of the children joined in our country dancing alongside their
parents which made the evening complete.
The
children’s art work was displayed in the classrooms and lots of you have
already purchased them. If you were not able to attend the gallery event last
night you can still purchase them from the class teacher. The canvasses created
by the children who go to Art Club are also available to buy and are currently
in the conservatory. Money raised will be used to buy more art resources.
Sports
Day has been rescheduled for 11th July at 1.00pm. The children will
be practising in P.E. again this week. Hopefully the weather will be more
forgiving and we will see you all there!
As
you know, New Sound Studios recorded our children performing last week. The recording is lovely. We are going to present these CDs to our
partner schools in France, Spain, Sweden and India so that they can hear just
how fantastic the children sound. If you
would like a copy please order them in the office.
Next
Friday morning the children will have an opportunity to visit their new classes
and meet their teachers. There are lots of exciting activities planned for them
to ensure that they have an easy transition into their next year group in
September.
On
Wednesday 9th July it is our annual Informal Parents’ Evening from
4.30pm-7.00pm. Teachers will be available to chat in their classrooms from
4.30pm until 6.00pm. From 6pm-7pm parents are invited to go in to the Hall for
some light refreshment as a thank you for all your support.
The
Leaver’s Assembly will now take place in the school hall on the 17th
July at 9.15am.
Kind
regards,
Julie Guest
