Friday 2nd May 2014
Dear Parents,
This week the children who will be performing in the Cheltenham Festival over the coming weeks have been very busy practising their recorders, poetry and prose. Some of these children have already performed in front of the whole school to give them the practise and confidence to stand in front of a large audience. Please continue to practise at home.
I am pleased to update you on our proposed new kitchen. Work has already started during the Easter Holidays and over the next few weeks we will be replacing a window to make an external door into the kitchen, tiling walls, covering floors and repositioning the electrics. I am hoping that all the work will be completed before the Summer Holidays in readiness to start providing hot lunches for all our children in September.
Unfortunately, because of this work we are currently looking at an alternative venue for the End of Key Stage One (Year Two) Leavers Assembly. As the venue has limited dates available we regrettably have to cancel the Pre-School, Reception and Year One End of Year Assemblies.
We are in the process of finalising our Summer School Trips. Dates for your diary are as follows:
Year Two- Dudley Museum on 3rd June
Year One-In House Activities TBA as they have already been on a trip this year.
Reception-Cotswold Wildlife Park on 8th July
Pre-School-Dick Whittington on 8th July (a new venue instead of Hop Skip and Jump)
I will inform you as soon as we have any more details.
We are considering offering a Hot Meal for children who attend After School Club. If you would be interested in this facility for the Autumn Term (September), please contact the office.
Kind regards to you all,
Julie Guest.
