Head Teacher's Newletter

Friday 9th May 2014

Dear Parents,

This week the children who will be performing in the Cheltenham Festival next week and the week after have been very busy practising their recorders, poetry and prose. Our first Prose Readers will be performing tomorrow and Mrs Western will meet you at the venue. She will bring the books the children will be reading together with a copy for the judge. Mr Cutler and Miss Western will be with the children on Monday for the Poetry, Mrs Western on Wednesday and Sunday for the Prose and Mrs Guest and Mr Newton on Friday for  Recorders. Please continue to practise at home!

We welcomed some first year BEd students in to school this week and they will be with us for the next three weeks. They have lots of exciting activities for the children to do as well as interesting stories so the children are in for a treat!

There are now vacancies for Year Two children to have Ukulele lessons with Mr Newton in the next Summer Term. The fee has been reduced as it is only a 7 week term. So if you would like your child to learn the ukulele please contact the office.

Next Term we are introducing a new Behaviour Policy. All the children will be put in to Houses which are named after our local hills: Cotswolds, Malvern and Robinswood. Points will be given out for good behaviour, helpfulness, politeness and respect. When a child has 25 stickers they will receive a Bronze award. When the have 50 points they will receive a Silver Award and similarly when they have 75 House Points they will get a Gold Award! Each term the houses with the most points will receive awards.

Some parents have already shown interest in our offer of a Hot Meal for children who attend After School Club. If you would be interested in this facility for the Autumn Term (September) and have not already done so please contact the office.

Kind regards to you all,

Julie Guest.
