25th April 2014
Dear Parents,
It has been an exceptionally busy first week back. We have had the
pleasure of welcoming Mr and Mrs Sahoo and Anita Samantray from SAI
International School in India to Churchdown Village Infants. Anita has been teaching the children
traditional Indian dances, food tasting, maths and tribal art. The children have really enjoyed meeting our
visitors and are excited about continuing our partnership with them. During the visit Year 2 Skyped with India for
their Hindi lessons.
Mrs Sahoo informed us about exciting developments at their school. In March 2015 they will open a pre-school for
1200 pupils, one of the only ones in their area. If you would like to know more about SAI
International School please visit their website:

Mr and Mrs Sahoo met Mr Bacon to discuss the possibility of partnering
with the junior school. Currently SAI
International School are linked with us and Chosen Hill. Mr Bacon is keen to begin planning for this
partnership.
We have received a programme for The Cheltenham Festival. All pupils involved should have brought
details home regarding the classes that they have been entered in. If you have any queries about the
arrangements please see myself or Mrs Western.
The children will be practising poetry, prose and recorders in earnest
over the next few weeks. If your child
is taking part please encourage them to practise as often as possible.
Thank you,
Julie Guest
