School followed by refreshments in the Family Room

The children celebrated National Poetry Day on Thursday. Although they did not dress up this year
they had lots of fun learning new poems and children drew pictures from poems and wrote their own
poems and riddles.
As part of our Comenius Project we are holding an international poster competition titled, ‘Our
Europe’. (Working together to make our environment better). One winner will be chosen from each
school in the partnership. These will then be taken to Sweden by our teachers later this term and a
winner from the four countries will be chosen. Please encourage your child to complete the poster
and return it by Monday 6th October.
On Friday 17th October we would like to invite grandparents to join us as we celebrate Grandparents
Day. There will be a special assembly at 9.10am in the Hall where children will talk about what our
Grandparents mean to us. We would like the children to bring photos of themselves with their
grandparents with a few adjectives that describe them. These will be put on a display in the Hall to
celebrate how wonderful they are! We are also planning to share the assembly with our partner
school in India via a skype link, technology permitting! Afterwards, grandparents are welcome to
stay for refreshments in the Family Room, kindly run by the Friends of the School.
Our Harvest Assembly will be held on 23rd October at St. Andrews Church at 9.30am. Once again
we will be collecting food to send to The Food Bank. Please bring your donations to the office before
that date.
Once again Thank You for your co-operation and generosity.
Kind regards,
Julie Guest
