Dear Parents,

KS1, (Y1 and 2) Expectations Evening – Tuesday 9th September 7.00-8.00pm
Early Years, (Pre-School and Reception) Expectations Evening – Thursday 11th September 7.00-8.00pm
Please refer to the Autumn Events List or the school website calendar for future dates.
Over the holiday Mr Partridge worked alongside builders to erect storage for the kitchen tables and chairs. Miss Keating is delighted to have the hall back in full working order. We are still awaiting details of the larger storage facility which will house staging and sports equipment. Reception has a new outside learning area. The space enables children to access their outside classroom in all weathers.
I received notification from the British Council that we have been successful in our third bid of funding to continue our Connecting Classrooms project with India. At the end of last term Mrs Western and myself skyped with Mr Sahoo and Mrs Patnaik from SAI International School. We discussed activities which would continue to develop cultural awareness in both schools as well as promoting best practice to raise achievement. If you would like to see the project outline there is a copy of the application in the International folder in the conservatory.
As well as the Connecting Classrooms project we begin our second year of the Comenius Project. Again a copy of the end of year one report can be found in the International folder.
Universal Free School Meals came into operation in September. Our Catering Manager has things well in hand and children are enjoying eating freshly cooked meals from our own kitchen. On Tuesday our school was in the local newspaper in an article about the new legislation.
A gentle reminder to all parents about considerate parking around school.
Kind regards,
Julie Guest
