Dear Parents,
The day has finally arrived! Our kitchen is finished. The appliances are in, the painting is complete and the fridges have been filled. We are ready to cook!
Sports Week has been a huge success this week, (apart from our Sport’s Day today). This has been rescheduled for 11th July at 1.00pm. Hopefully the weather will be more forgiving.
The children particularly enjoyed the Circus Skills day where they were Big Top performers for the day. The company also taught the children a song from Barnum. This was a very challenging piece but our talented children sang it beautifully.
On Thursday we did some recording. New Sound Studios recorded our Prose, Poetry and Recorder children performing their pieces, two pieces from the Year One/Two Choir and two songs from the whole school. The recording was commissioned by the school as a celebration of what our children are capable of achieving. The company have agreed to make additional copies if parents would like to purchase them but we will need to let them know as soon as possible. If you would like to purchase a copy of the recording please return the slip below with a contribution of £7.50, (cheques payable to CVIS).
Next week will start with our World War One Day. Children will be learning about how people lived during this time and we will have a Centenary celebratory tea in the afternoon….(pea soup and tapioca anyone?) On Thursday we will be holding our annual Performance Evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. This is always a lovely evening with lots of audience participation. You will need to bring a picnic for the interval. On the night there will be a sale of art work in the classrooms. Pictures cost from £4-£10. Money raised will be used to buy more art resources.
I am pleased to announce that the drain outside the school gates has now been fixed. Thank you to those who contacted The Highways Agency.
I hope you all have a restful weekend. Don’t forget the Junior School fete tomorrow at 11.00am if you are able to attend.
Kind regards,
Julie Guest
