Dear Parents,
This week the children have been very busy finishing their topic
work. Whilst it has been a short term,
I’m sure you can see that the children are all tired as they have worked
extremely hard. As part of the term’s
work we have been continuing our Comenius Project, (Our Europe, We Can Make a
Difference) and Connecting Classrooms partnership with India. Children have made lots of leaflets and
posters using a variety of media, greeting cards and models from recycled
objects, continued the developments in the Forest School area and are currently
growing their own plants and vegetables.
During half term, two of our governors along with Miss Western and Mrs
Wheeler will be visiting one of our partner schools in Jerez. They will be looking at how schools in Spain
are supported by their local community and the structure of their management
teams. They will also complete a British
Council evaluation of our first year.
Upon their return staff and governors will write a report outlining
future actions.
It will be an even busier few weeks next term with the Informal Parent’s
Evening, reports, Performance Evening, Leavers and much more. Dates are displayed on the school website
along with news of events that have been carried out in school.
A gentle reminder to parents using social media sites, we have requested
that when using these sites that individuals in school are not named. The pages are a useful tool in sharing
information or holding forums to discuss dates, activities etc, they are less
productive when used to voice issues. As
a staff we always work very hard to ensure your children have the very best
education possible. If you have any
concerns that you would like to discuss, our Open Door Policy means they can be
addressed as quickly as possible.
All staff would like to wish you a restful and safe half term and look
forward to coming back for our final Summer Term.
Kind regards
Julie Guest
Headteacher
